Horse leasing in Surrey, BC
Lease a horse for more time in the saddle
For riders who are ready to take the next step beyond weekly lessons, leasing offers a meaningful increase in ride time, consistency, and connection with one horse.
<p >At Unicorn Stables, leasing is a natural progression within our lesson program. It’s designed for riders who’ve built a solid foundation in lessons and are ready to develop more independence, deepen their horsemanship, and start working toward bigger goals.
What leasing looks like
The consistency of working with the same horse week after week accelerates progress in a way that’s hard to replicate through lessons alone. You’ll develop a feel for your horse’s personality, movement, and responses, and your horse will come to know you too.
What horse leasing opens up for riders
Leasers at Unicorn Stables have access to the full range of opportunities within our program, including:
- Trail rides along Mud Bay and the Delta Watershed
- Clinics with Unicorn coaches and invited external clinicians
- Off-property schooling outings
- Horse shows and competitions, when the time is right
There’s no requirement to compete. Some leasers are working toward the show ring; others just want more time with a horse they love. Both are completely valid.
Is leasing right for you?
Leasing tends to be a great fit for riders who:
- Are taking weekly lessons and want more ride time
- Are building toward a specific goal, like a first horse show or a new discipline
- Want to develop a deeper bond with one horse before considering ownership
- Are curious about what horse ownership might look like, without the full commitment
If you’re not sure whether you’re ready to lease, your coach is the best person to ask. We’ll help you figure out the right timing.
Leasing availability depends on our current horse string and program schedule. Get in touch with the office and we’ll let you know what’s available and what might be a good fit for where you are in your riding.
